Yilan County Government held an event to promote diversity cultures in Chung Hsing Cultural and Creative Park on Nov 17. The event is about playing games and tasting food to let people learn more about different cultures and how to connect with them.
The topic of the event is “Connecting with Hearts and Living with Diversities”. There are many groups including women’s associations, new resident associations and community development associations participating in this event. People can learn more about the culture by watching Indonesian new resident performing their traditional dance and reading the illustration story books from different countries with the new resident. Besides, the new generation performs the Taiwanese opera by combining their own culture. Also, the official design games to encourage the public about learning the resources provided by the government.
Yilan County Government stated that the number of the new resident population has reached to 8,500 people. Yilan County not only has the local traditional culture, but also many diversity cultures because of the growing new resident population. By hosting this event, the official hopes to build Yilan as one of the best living cities for the new resident from either Southeast Asia or China.
