According to Thailand drops requirement for visitors to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination | The Straits Times, Thailand's health minister confirmed on Monday that a rule requiring travelers to provide confirmation of Covid-19 vaccination had been reversed. The policy had been introduced over the weekend. Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand's deputy prime minister, claimed that those without vaccination records would be allowed admission without limitation because there was enough immunization around the world. Prior to China reopening its borders, the aviation regulator replaced it with new regulations that were revealed on Saturday.

In the first flight of Chinese tourists since the epidemic began, which arrived in Thailand on Monday, 3,465 people were expected on the first day. Thailand, one of the most well-liked holiday destinations in Asia, is experiencing a rise in visitors during its first peak season following the elimination of stringent entrance requirements last year.

It got 1.75 million visitors in November, which is four times more than it did for the entire previous year, when flights and foreign immigration were restricted. According to Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand is now anticipating 7–10 million Chinese tourists, up from an earlier prediction of 5 million.

The Thailand Tourism Authority anticipates that more than 11.5 million visitors arrived in the country last year, slightly over a quarter of the record-breaking nearly 40 million visitors in pre-pandemic 2019, who spent over 1.91 trillion baht (S$76 billion).

According to Anutin Charnvirakul, Thailand will continue to demand tourists whose next destination is a nation needing a negative pre-entry COVID-19 test to demonstrate they have health insurance for the treatment of the illness.

Concern over the rising number of Covid-19 infections in China led to the implementation of the arrival rule, which effective at 1 am on Monday.
