The third stage of the Influenza Vaccine at public-sector prices has been available for all publicly-funded recipients since January 1. The flu epidemic has spread currently, so Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (Taiwan CDC) appeals to those who are eligible for publicly-funded Influenza Vaccine to get vaccinated as soon as possible at cooperative institutions or health centers to obtain sufficient protection before the peak of flu during Spring Festival.
According to the statistics by Taiwan Centers for Disease Control, 109,827 outpatient clinic and emergency outbreaks of influenza-like illness were seen in Taiwan last week (12/22- 12/28), with an increase of 8.1% over the previous week. Recently, the main epidemic virus in the community is still H1N1, and only influenza B during the past week has gradually increased. Last week, 62 cases of severe influenza-complicated severe were found, of which 59 cases were infected with influenza A virus subtype H1N1.
Taiwan Centers for Disease Control states that 6.04 million doses of publicly-funded flu vaccines were all delivered this year. It is estimated that about 2,447 cooperative institutions (including some health centers) nationwide will provide vaccination services on New Year's Day. 4,090 cooperative institutions and health centers will provide services from January 2. People are advised to check through the "Influenza Prevention and Control Acceleration "(https://antiflu.cdc.gov.tw/) of Taiwan CDC and make a call to confirm save the time of waiting before departure.
