Hsinchu City Government announced plans to increase the childbirth subsidy from NT$30,000 to NT$60,000 per child starting in 2027. The city also plans to introduce a "Pregnancy Support Subsidy" program worth up to NT$20,000, expanding financial support from pregnancy through the postpartum period.

Under the proposed program, each pregnant woman would receive NT$14,000 for expenses such as nutritional supplements, breastfeeding products, and infant care items. Combined with the existing pregnancy transportation subsidy, total support could reach NT$20,000 per family.

The city also plans to double the childbirth subsidy to ease the financial burden faced by families during childbirth and early child-rearing. The proposal has been approved in internal planning and will proceed through the budget review process.

In recent years, the city has expanded childcare allowances, childcare subsidies, and public childcare resources. The new subsidy program and increased childbirth benefit are intended to strengthen support from pregnancy through child-rearing.

The measures are expected to take effect in 2027 after budget approval and legislative review. The city will continue evaluating population trends and family needs while adjusting related parenting policies and support resources.
