A nonprofit organization's survey indicates that half of Taiwanese women would use their sanitary products for longer periods of time or change them less frequently in order to save money, which will have an adverse effect on their physical health. The Social Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government organized a public welfare fundraising project to give sanitary products to girls from families with difficult circumstances and distributed them in 68 social welfare bases in order to improve gender-friendly services. The Department of Education will also distribute grants to aid young women in need.

To abolish prejudice against menstruation and make sanitary product acquisition simple and welcoming, the Social Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government plans to deliver sanitary products to unprivileged girls and set up sanitary products in social welfare bases.

A special committee member of the Department of Education also noted that beginning in August, females from underprivileged groups would get subsidies from the third grade of high school to the fifth grade of elementary school. 9,100 people are anticipated to benefit from the NT$200 monthly subsidy, which will be exchanged for sanitary supplies at specified outlets. Supplies for bodily functions are also made available to students in need by the school's health center. The goal is for everyone to work together to establish a peaceful atmosphere, starting with the education institutions.
