Kaohsiung - Lin Yuan District Police officer helped three Vietnamese female workers getting lost at night.

As the number of foreign workers working in Taiwan continues to increase, it is easy to spot them strolling around after work or on holidays. On June 11th, three migrant workers from Vietnam lost their way in Linyuan District of Kaohsiung City. The Zhongzhuang police station of Linyuan Branch urgently approached them to assist and finally escorted them succesfully back to their factory dormitory.

The Kaohsiung Police Department recently released a press, saying that policeman Liu Liuyu, who was currently working at the Lin Yuan Police Branch of the Kaohsiung Police Department, received a report on June 11 from Heliao Road Section. 1 (大寮 區 河堤 路 一段) of Da Liao District about some people got lost and needed help.

After the police arrived, they found that the three who got lost were migrant workers from Vietnam. After the conversation, it was found that their Chinese were not good. Fortunately, a female worker surnamed Nguyen could use some Chinese, and hesitantly said that it was their first day working in a factory in Daliao district. Yet, no one showed them the way to get back to the dorm after work. Besides, the factory was located in the countryside, and there were many small roads surrounding it. They rode by bike around that area and finally found themselves got lost. As the sky was getting darker, they were all felt very frightened.

After the police understood the situation, he firstly confirmed the company’s name where those female workers worked, and called the company to check the exact address of their dormitory. However, three women were unable to neither read nor understand the road signs and the house number. Therefore, the police drove his patrol car and turned on the warning light to send them back to their place. In the end, the migrant workers arrived to the dormitory safely.

Three migrant workers have finally felt relieved after arriving home safely. With smile on their face, they appreciated police officer Liu for his kind support.
