NIA North District Affairs Brigade Yilan County Service Station cooperated with Yilan County Government Political Affairs Office to host environmental education promotion campaign for new resident in Yilan which appeals to 42 new residents from Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia and mainland China to join the event.
The environmental education promotion campaign on 27th is arranged by three major events. Firstly, Yilan County Service Station promoted the important governmental policy and called for the slogan with new residents such as preventing human trafficking, defending African swine fever, supporting anti-bribery to protect Taiwan’s democracy. Later, the new residents joined the new resident forum to provide the suggestion and communicate with MOI Minister Hsu Guo-yong(徐國勇). Last, it led the new residents to the Elephant Trunk Rock Scenic Area in north coast of Taiwan to see the landscape like a giant elephant as well as the Sandiaojiao Lighthouse which brighten the fishboats in the dark. Cambodian new resident Huang Chiao-ying(黃巧英) who just married in Taiwan on March this year stated her love toward scenery in Taiwan. Chang Hsuan(張軒) who is the second-generation of new resident considered that it was a precious opportunity to join NIA’s event with her mother. The new residents fell in love with Taiwan through getting close to the scenery and nature.
Director of Yilan County Service Station Jian Chung-zhou(簡聰洲) stated that it is crucial to make new resident understand the importance of Taiwan's democratic system through the anti-bribery promotion, new resident forum and environmental education campaign. Learning how to cherish what we have and protect natural resources to be reserved for the next generation.
