Scam cases went rampant and migrant workers have been the target in recent years. National Immigration Agency (Kaohsiung City First Service Center) held a family education campaign for immigrants. Chen Ming Fu (陳明富) – the Judge of Kaohsiung Branch, Taiwan High Court – was invited to be the speaker of the talk and taught immigrants how to prevent themselves fall into these traps.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of the Interior, the main three types of fraud cases are in the form of “investment”, “installment payment” and “online auction” in 2021. The high court judge, Chen, reminds everyone that fraud groups often deceive people in the form of investment, befriending, impersonating customer service staff, auction websites, selling cheap products, etc. If the public encounters suspicious situations, please keep calm and call the anti-fraud hotline (165) for confirmation.

Besides, the Service Center also promotes the NIA’s “Online Application System for Hiring Migrant Workers.” Private employment service agencies (human resources recruitment agencies) can apply for migrant workers’ residences (including re-entry permits) online. Besides, submitting documents at NIA’s counters is also an option for employers and migrant workers who are unfamiliar with the use of computers or without Internet access.
The director of NIA (Kaohsiung City First Service Center), Xu Zhi Quan (徐志權), mentioned that NIA organizes family education campaigns for immigrants every month and provides useful information. Hence, immigrants can make better adjustments while residing in Taiwan.
