The Tainan City Tourism Bureau has launched the "Double-Decker Bus Gourmet Food Truck Series Experience," inviting tourists to explore the rural scenery of Houbi and the lotus charm of Baihe. The event is themed "Rice Aroma and Lotus Feast," combining Baihe Lotus Festival, Houbi Su Nu Village, and new tourist factories, allowing tourists to ride a double-decker bus and immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Chianan Plain.
Houbi District, known as the granary of the Chianan Plain, is famous for its rice production. The 2004 documentary "Let It Be" brought the Jingliao community into the spotlight, making it a model for rural tourism. Following the popular Taiwanese drama "The Making of an Ordinary Woman," Houbi Su Nu Village has also become a hotspot for visitors. Baihe District is renowned for its lotus cultivation, attracting numerous flower-viewing tourists during the blooming season. The area also offers national treasure-level mud hot springs and delicious dishes like bucket chicken and wild vegetables, providing a rich travel experience.
Tourism Bureau Director Lin Guohua introduced that the tour begins with the rural scenery of Houbi, exploring filming locations of "Let It Be" and "The Making of an Ordinary Woman." In Houbi Su Nu Village, visitors can enjoy making handmade red turtle cakes. The journey then heads to the new attraction "Arwin Lake Resort," featuring a cosmetics factory and themed garden, making it an ideal spot for photos. During lunch, tourists will enjoy a European-style meal box on the double-decker bus, which is healthy and delicious. After lunch, the bus travels to Baihe District, where tourists can enjoy panoramic views of the lotus fields and participate in a DIY lotus seed-picking activity, experiencing the journey of lotus seeds from field to table. The trip concludes with tasting lotus seed snacks, ending a fulfilling rural adventure.Experience making handmade red turtle cakes in Houbi Su Nu Village, with soft and chewy rice skin wrapped around a mildly sweet filling.
