No Bullying, No Discrimination, Shu-Te University's Poster Contest Calling for Respects for Migrant Workers

The Counseling and Special Education Resource Center of Shu-Te University held a series of activities -" No Bullying 080, No Discrimination 574 Advocacy Poster Contest" Award Ceremony. Although it is the first time of this kind of event holding this year, it has gained many contributors, with 74 participating, 94 submissions, and 682 participating in the voting.

There are 88 pieces of works selected in the preliminary selection, and the top three, two Popularity Awards, and fifteen groups of excellent works are selected in the final round. The first place is won by Ye Ziyin, from the Department of Recreation and Sport Management.

Ye Ziyin‘s creative development comes from her seeing discrimination as an infectious disease, and infected people may attack particular ethnic groups. Education is a vaccine to make educated people "know how to respect", especially Taiwan ’s rising demand for migrant workers, it is easier that discrimination would happen due to differences in colors, religions, and countries in our daily lives.

Moreover, this May, Taiwan became the first Asian country that legalizes same-sex marriage, so we need to respect multi-cultures, build the concept of ethnic equality, and anti-discrimination should be established.

The organizer also shares the exciting process of soliciting contributions that develop from nothing. It turns out that a student asks Dcard netizens to enthusiastically participate, and suddenly, groups of talented netizens begin contributing their works. By the deadline, the organizer receives 94 pieces of works. Plus, 8 international students among all contestants participate in the contest, including 4 Chinese people, 3 Indonesians, 1 Malaysian, and two of the Indonesians win Excellent Awards.
Shu-Te University, the organizer, also appreciate two assistants of the Indonesian program, Wei Xingru, and Lin Jieying that actively assist in translating the application form into Indonesian to increase Indonesian students' willingness to participate.

The psychologist of the Counseling and Special Education Resource Center, Cai Jiahua, also assists students in translating their English creative concepts into Chinese to let the public understand the meanings of works and their feelings.
