CECC confirms 45 more COVID-19 cases, including 5 domestic cases and 40 imported cases

According to Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), there are 45 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of those 45 cases, 5 are domestic and 40 are imported. The CECC announced 1 death today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are 2 men and 3 women, aged between around 20 years old and around 40 years old.

Regarding the 45 new imported cases, they are 25 men and 15 women, aged between under 10 and above 70 years old. 8 of them are from the United States, 3 from India and Singapore each, 2 from Australia, Philippines, Vietnam, and Japan each, and 1 from United Kingdom, Spain, Algeria, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Netherlands, Indonesia, Brazil and Argentina each. The remaining 5 cases arrived are being investigated. They arrived between January 5, 2022, to February 14, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 6,019,159 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,998,996. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 19,666 cases. Of the 19,666 confirmed cases, 4,283 are imported; 15,329 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection.

The command center once again appeals to the public that one should keep hands clean, wear a mask, reduce unnecessary travel, activities, or gatherings, avoid entering and leaving crowded places, or areas with high risk of infection transmission, and take the initiative to follow various regulations and stop the potential spread of the highly contagious variant within the community
