Miaoli Invites New Residents to Join In "Returning to Parents' Home" Event for Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is the most important festival in Taiwan, and daughters returning homes is a traditional Taiwanese custom. However, for the new residents who came to Taiwan for marriage, they are often not able to return to their home countries and reunite with their families during Lunar New Year. To alleviate the nostalgia of new residents, the New Resident Family Service Center in Miaonan District holds the "Returning to Parents' Home" activity for three years.

The New Resident Family Service Center in Miaonan District has held activities for new residents returning to their parents' homes on the second day of Lunar New Year since 2018 and has invited new resident families to have a family reunion dinner together so that new residents who aren't able to return to their parents' homes can feel the happiness of returning to the second parents' home in Miaoli. It is also hoped to promote emotional supports among new residents and form a mutual support system to make the development and promotion of new resident family services go smoother. Moreover, new residents can find a sense of belonging at the New Resident Family Service Center and think of this second parents' home when facing difficulties.

On the second day of this Lunar New Year (January 26), the New Resident Family Service Center in Miaonan District will be holding the "Returning to Parents' Home" from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the second floor of the Beimiao Market (2F, No. 45, Zhonghua Road, Miaoli). All new residents and their children in Miaoli are welcome to join and enjoy this Lunar New Year!
