The summer vacation is gradually coming to an end, and all school institutions below high school level will start school on September 1. To prevent the COVID-19 virus from spreading and to protect the health of students and teachers, school staff of schools below high school level and cram schools have recently been vaccinated. According to the Ministry of Education (MOE, 教育部), whether the teacher is a Taiwanese or a foreigner, if they are legally employed, they will be registered for vaccination.
As of August 12, a total of 300,000 teaching staff in schools below high school level have been vaccinated, while nearly 40,000 staff in cram schools have been vaccinated. Recently, the MOE held an online briefing session on the "Draft of Precautions for the Vaccination of Severe Special Infectious Pneumonia Vaccines for Relevant Persons in Short-term Cram Schools". In the online session, the MOE stated that illegally hired teachers will not be allowed to register and reminded all cram schools to abide by the regulations. If there is a violation of the law, a fine of NT$50,000 to NT$250,000 will be imposed on the person in charge, and the violation should be corrected within a certain period.

In addition, if school teachers or cram school staff have been registered but cannot receive the vaccine during the special project period, they can go to the COVID-19 publicly funded vaccination registration and appointment reservation platform to register and make an appointment for the vaccination.
