The public is reminded that flu season is presently in effect by the Taiwan Centers of Disease Control (CDC). Up to 110,000 trips to the emergency room due to flu-like symptoms have occurred in only one week. Mid-November is when it is predicted to rise even further, peaking around the end of January the following year. Consequently, it is advised that people begin preparing for the flu season as early as October 2023. To enhance the effectiveness of health protection, finish your vaccinations before the end of the year.

According to pediatricians, immunization against influenza is most effective one to two months before to the peak period. Taiwan may have a co-epidemic of influenza, RSV, and COVID-19 in autumn. In order to improve their level of health protection, people are urged to take their kids to get the flu vaccination.

The majority of influenza cluster reports occur in schools, according to the CDC, thus relevant units need to increase preventive and put appropriate infection control measures in place. The CDC advises people to wash their hands often, remain at home while they're sick, and wear masks if they have a fever, cough, or other flu-like symptoms.

Additionally, to lower the chance of serious problems, please seek medical attention as soon as possible if someone exhibits dangerous symptoms including breathing difficulties, shortness of breath, or hypoxia. One should also take any medicine prescribed by their doctor as directed. It is especially important to pay attention to the health of pregnant women, high-risk chronic patients, babies, and those over 65.
