Radio Program “Hello, Listen to Southeast Asia” Introduced Every Country’s Rice Dumpling

Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan Southeast Asia cross-cultural radio program – “Hello, Listen to Southeast Asia” introduced the Southeast Asia’s rice dumpling from every country.

According to the “Liberty Times” reportage, Chen Meiying (陳美英) the new resident from Thailand said that Thailand’s rice dumpling is using the banana leafs for the coat and inside is the local taro. In addition, there is a banana glutinous rice dumpling, with a long strip shape as a local classic snack.

The Indonesian Hakka traditional rice dumpling contains chestnut, chicken, peanut, shrimp, and mushroom.

While the Vietnamese rice dumpling appearance is square, with the reflection of heaven and earth manifestation, symbolize the reunion of the New Year: can be sliced and fried, with the glutinous rice contains pork and green beans.

Taiwan has similar culture with the Southeast Asian countries, hope that through the program, there will be more communication and interaction for each other.
