The policy that surgical masks must be imprinted with the letters "MD" and "MIT" takes effect today (Sept. 24). Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua (王美花) stated since today, citizens can buy imprinted masks at pharmacies and public health centers. Boxes of masks will not be available until November.
The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) issued the latest policy that all domestically-manufactured masks should carry the imprint of "MD" and "Made In Taiwan" and be requisitioned until Oct. 31. Starting today (Sept. 24), citizens can purchase surgical masks embossed at pharmacies and public health centers.
