[Taiwan Immigrants’ Global News Network] The Immigration Agency recently held a five-day and four-night multicultural local creation and cultivation camp for the children of new residents at the Chinese Talent Training Center. The deputy director of the Immigration Agency, Lin Hong-En, presided over the launching ceremony. The theme is "local creation", to lead the children of new residents and Chinese nationals to explore the local culture and stories of Taiwan, and combine the multiculturalism of their parents' original nationalities to reinterpret the land where they grew up with creativity, bringing diverse and common good energy to the place.

Deputy director Lin Hong-En said that the event planning cooperated with the National Development Commission, the Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Bureau of Taoyuan City Government to arrange courses such as understanding local creation, multicultural development, practical sharing of local creation, copywriting and presentations, and went to The shu's pottery “新旺集瓷” and Xianguang 2nd Village “憲光二” to visit multi-cultural characteristic sites. At the end of the activity, the students used what they had learned in the course to combine the local characteristics of their own hometown with the culture of their parents' native country to produce a "local tabloid" contest to announce results.

Ke, who is currently studying at National Pingtung University, worked as a volunteer at the Macadao Cultural Association in Laopi, Neipu Township, Pingtung County. Pingtung Laopi Macadao culture, especially at the inauguration ceremony, performed Macadao songs, sharing the music feast of multicultural ethnic groups with everyone, showing the charm of diversity and integration.

Deputy Director Lin Hong-En encourages the children of new residents to give full play to their advantages of diversity, multilingualism and creativity. In addition to learning new knowledge, cultivating teamwork, communication and multicultural sensitivity and other soft skills through the camp, they will apply what they have learned in the future and continue to improve, broaden the macro vision, and jointly gather new energy for local creation.
