The shortlist for the "Fearless Newcomers" College Stand-Up Comedy Competition, jointly organized by the New Taipei City Cultural Affairs Bureau and the All People Drama Group, has been officially announced. The event attracted around 50 submissions from college students across Taiwan. Contestants will undergo a series of training sessions, preliminaries, and semi-finals in August, with the top 8 finalists competing in the grand finale on September 21 for the championship prize of NT$60,000 and a brand-new scooter worth NT$80,000.

The New Taipei City Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that contestants were required to film a 3 to 5-minute stand-up comedy video, which involved writing jokes, crafting punchlines, performing physically, and recording themselves. After numerous rehearsals, they were able to submit their creative and polished works, making this challenge a tough one. Before the preliminaries, the All People Drama Group specially arranged a 2-day intensive training course, led by stand-up comedy expert Huang Xiaopang, to help contestants refine their skills and confidently step onto the stage, enhancing the quality of their performances.
The judging panel for this competition is impressive, featuring well-known figures from the stand-up comedy and theater scenes, including Jupiter, Patrick, Chen Datian, Huang Yihao, Long Long, and Xie Nianzhu, who will comprehensively evaluate the contestants' performances. Additionally, mysterious guest judges will join at different stages of the competition, adding excitement and providing diverse perspectives and insights.
