The Ministry of Economic Affairs has formulated an additional subsidy plan for replacing old vehicles with new electric cars, which will be sent to the Ministry of Environment for review and is expected to be officially implemented in the second half of the year. This subsidy plan mainly targets residents of Yunlin, Chiayi, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung, offering a subsidy of 4000 NT dollars for air pollution and carbon reduction benefits, with a total quota of about 10,000 vehicles. The carbon reduction benefit purchase price is 2000 NT dollars, applicable to all citizens in Taiwan.
To meet the increasing demand for factory land due to the return of Taiwanese businesses, the Industrial Park Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs is actively developing four major industrial parks in Zhongpu and Shuishang of Chiayi County, Xinshi of Tainan City, and North Kaohsiung of Kaohsiung City. These parks will be handed over to manufacturers in the near future, and it is expected that mass production will begin within two years. Some manufacturers with faster progress may complete construction and start production by the end of this year or early next year.

The Administration stated that to fulfill the environmental impact assessment commitments for air pollution and greenhouse gas increase offset plans, old motorcycles will be replaced with electric motorcycles, and the reduction benefits will be attributed to the Industrial Park Administration. The plan is expected to complete the Ministry of Environment's review within one to two months and be listed on the Ministry's "Vehicle Replacement Offset Matching Platform."
The increase in air pollution reduction must come from the same air quality diffusion impact zone (air quality zone), so the Administration emphasizes that the air pollution reduction benefits mainly target residents of the Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan high-screen two air quality zones, with a maximum subsidy of 4000 NT dollars. All citizens in Taiwan can apply for the 2000 NT dollar carbon reduction benefit purchase. Applicants can inquire and get the best benefits through motorcycle shops.
Currently, according to the subsidy schemes for replacing old motorcycles with electric ones in various county and city governments, residents of Kaohsiung and Tainan can receive up to 7000 NT dollars, while those in Chiayi and Pingtung can receive up to 6000 NT dollars. Combined with the Ministry of Economic Affairs' subsidy and other incentives, residents of Kaohsiung and Tainan can receive a total subsidy of up to 18,300 NT dollars.
