The International Migrants Day, which happens to be the winter solstice of Lunar calendar, which is held on December 18. Taitung County Service Station of the NIA and the Brigade particularly invites new resident women to prepare warm food and dumplings for foreign fishing workers to show their care for them at the Hsin-Kang Fishing Harbor in Taitung.
Taitung County Service Station of the NIA, the Hsin-Kang Fishing Harbor in Taitung, and the Coast Guard Administration have shown their care for the fishing workers working at the Hsin-Kang Fishing Harbor. Not only does the NIA establish a place of worshipping for Muslims to pray and chant, but it provides the dumplings and delicacies of Southeast Asia for the fishing workers who are just back from the sea area and unload the catches to pray for an auspicious year.
An Indonesian woman who is responsible for dealing with Southeast Asian delicacies illustrates to the fishing workers about the meaning of Migrants Day and dumplings. Indonesian A Bi and Philippine A Wan movingly states, "This is the first time that we had these delicious dumplings, and we feel the dumplings full of Taiwan's hospitality."
The director of Taitung County Service Station, Lin Mingdao, states that migrant workers have long devoted to Taiwan's economic development. On this day of international celebration, the NIA particularly holds the activity and shows their full care and concern for fishing workers.
