Don't Worry! Orientation Workshop Film Will Help Migrant Workers

The migrant workers who came to Taiwan for the very first time may easily violate the laws due to the differences of local laws and cultural habits. The most serious punishment may make them unable to come to Taiwan. So, what employers need to do? To assist employers in promoting national laws for migrant workers to adapt to their lives in Taiwan, the Ministry of Labor has issued an "Orientation Workshop" film that provides the information of the Animal Protection Act and the Genetic Health Law with four languages, such as Vietnamese. Employers can make use of the Information Site of Foreign Worker Rights Defence of Taiwan Workforce Development Agency to download the relevant information.

Taiwan Workforce Development Agency states that migrant workers may face obstacles in a brand-new living environment and customs. To avoid the regret of killing animals, employers are reminded to conduct an orientation workshop about advocating several pieces of important information, such as the Animal Protection Act, for migrant workers. If employers do not advocate relevant acts to migrant workers and improve it before the deadlines, they will receive a fine of up to 300,000 NTD. Employers should confirm the appointed cross-national human resources agencies to advocate correct information of relevant acts to migrant workers. If agencies fail, employers will be punished, and agencies will also receive a fine of up to 300,000 NTD. Taiwan Workforce Development Agency particularly reminds that employers and human resources agencies should operate the advocacy of relevant acts for migrant workers to adapt to their lives in Taiwan.

Taiwan Workforce Development Agency indicates that employers and human resources agencies can make good use of the "Information Site of Foreign Worker Rights Defence" (https://fw.wda.gov.tw) that provides four languages, such as English, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian to advocate relevant information of acts, such as the Animal Protection Act. If people find any case of migrant workers hurting animals happens, please call 1955 Foreign Workers Free Hotline to help local animal protection authorities handle it, or call 0800-231-532 (Council of Agriculture of the Executive Yuan)
