The "ETIAS Plan" will be implemented starting on January 1, 2024, according to a recent announcement by the European Union. The non-EU nationals of more than 60 nations, including Taiwan, who are able to enter the Schengen areas without a visa, are the implementation targets. For individuals between the ages of 18 and 70, the application price is 7 euros (about NT$237); for those under the age of 18 or above the age of 70, it is free. The duration of validity is three years, but the pertinent rules, such as the 90-day maximum visa-free stay, still need to be followed.
