According to DSWD food stamp program set for full pilot launch in December | Inquirer News, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Walang Gutom 2027: Food Stamp Program will begin its complete test run in December.

This information was revealed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Undersecretary for Innovations Edu Punay on October 18 at the Third Nutrition Education Session and Fourth Food Stamp Redemption Day for Pilot Beneficiaries in Tondo, Manila.

DSWD is now carrying out the pilot project. The goal is three thousand families spread over five trial sites, and by December, DSWD plans to fully implement the pilot program, according to a statement issued on October 19 by the agency.

Beginning on July 18 in Tondo, the six-month preliminary dry run of the food stamp program will benefit fifty households.

Every household received an electronic benefit transfer card with P3,000 in monthly food credit placed onto it as part of the original program.

Only small supermarkets and grocery stores with DSWD accreditation, as well as Kadiwa businesses, accept these cards.

In order to make the food stamp program succeed, acording to DSWD food stamp program set for full pilot launch in December | Inquirer News, Punay emphasized that financing and interagency collaboration will be provided by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Executive Order No. 44, which designates the program as a flagship government effort.
