The Control Yuan announced that occupational accidents of migrant workers happen more often than national workers'. In response to it, the Ministry of Labor promised to improve it to reduce migrant workers' occupational accidents.
Given that on May 12, the Control Yuan passed the inquiry of the "Occupational Accidents of Migrant Workers Engaged in Manufacturing Industry More Than National Workers'"(製造業移工職業災害失能發生率明顯高於本國勞工). The Control Yuan pointed out that the Ministry of Labor didn't propose effective measures to reduce migrant workers' occupational accidents. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the Ministry of Labor stated that it has urged inspection units to undertake safety and health checkups to manufacturing firms that hire migrant workers.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration further explained that it has reinforced its supervisory mechanism to conduct the highest standard inspections and grasp the most comprehensive situations on migrant workers' occupational accidents. Moreover, the Administration continues to undertake training courses on disaster prevention, promote environmental improvements, and hold professional training programs to urge employers to carry out safety measures.
