Taiwan has once again been honored with the "Best Leisure Destination in Asia" award at the 12th Annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards by Global Traveler magazine. Lin Yi-Cheng, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau's Los Angeles Office, accepted the award on behalf of Taiwan at the ceremony. This recognition highlights the spirit of Taiwan Tourism 3.0 under the brand "TAIWAN– Waves of Wonder," showcasing Taiwan's outstanding position in the global tourism industry.
The 12th Annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards were voted on by Global Traveler readers during the survey period from July 15, 2023, to March 8, 2024. The awards aim to recognize the world's best leisure, lifestyle, and travel destinations. Taiwan earned the title of "Best Leisure Destination in Asia" due to its rich natural landscapes, unique cultural heritage, and world-class cuisine. Iconic attractions such as Taipei 101, the National Palace Museum, and Alishan, along with numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, draw a large number of international visitors.

This summer, the Tourism Bureau launched the "2024 Taiwan Midsummer Festival – Solar Festival in Taiwan," featuring five major themes: "Dragon Boat Stories," "Summer Solstice 235," "Tea and Ice Delights," "Taiwan Culinary Exhibition," and "Fun with Railway Tours," allowing visitors to fully enjoy the fun even in the summer heat.
