In order to promote Taoyuan sightseeing, the Takoham Culture and Education Foundation together with Taiwan Global Worker Organization invited 35 migrant workers from Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines for Taoyuan Daxi tour on June 30. Under the guidance of the tour guide and the interpreter, they enjoyed the beauty of Taoyuan.
The migrant workers, who have been staying in Taiwan for about 10 months to more than 4 years, joined the tour. Although the work is busy, with only one day vacation per week, but in order to experience the culture of different countries, let the family and friends know about the living environment in foreign country, they will arrange the trip. They also create a video, upload it for the community and become an amateur Youtuber.
In order to let the foreign friends experience the culture of Daxi Wood Art Ecomuseum, the guide, Huang Jianyi (黃建義) avoided the old street route for the general route of the tourists, in particular they visited the Japanese-style dormitory.
When the tour guide led them to enter the place, they could see the long wooden stack ramp under the banyan tree. Several bloggers set up their tripod design position for this area, while many dressers grabbed the chance to take pictures in various angles in front of the wooden door. The scenery of Dahan River even more beautiful, several photographers refused to leave before they stopped at the fence to take some pictures, even set up the drone. Even they not familiar with the place, they were not bear to go first to enjoy the beauty of it.
The group of the tour walked into the old street to experience the food, some of them like to eat Daxi dried beans, while some of them were interested in the snacks and bean curd. A friend from Indonesia had prepared some food, made spicy coconut rice and traditional Nyonya snacks, shared it for all, and even attracted the bean curd shop owner to ask.
The weather was about 35 degrees Celsius, but the group continues visited paddy fields in Yuemei Leisure Agriculture Zone, Jinxing Orchid and Flower Garden, and Li Tengfang Ancient House. It was so hot, many Indonesian friends feel tired and the sudden rain made their clothes wet, but everyone felt the harvest was full. It was closed with the final activity, painted gyro experience and gyro competition.
