According to the Taipei City Government, On New Year's Eve, many people flock to Taipei 101 to watch the fireworks display. The Parks and Street Lights Office (PSLO) would like to remind the public that there is another location in Taipei that continues to dazzle tourists with its vibrant colors: the Beitou Shan Tseng-chi Park's flower fields.

Visitors can enjoy the sight of rows upon rows of lavender plants flourishing down the slopes with approximately 16,000 lavenders in full bloom within the park's boundaries. The purple tidal surge is a sight to behold.

Last year's flowery landscape at Shan Tseng-chi Park was favorably accepted by visitors, according to PSLO Director Huang. To show its appreciation for the community, the agency has extended the celebration to include both New Year's Day and the next Chinese New Year holiday.

The flower rotation has been completed by gardeners and employees in preparation for the second half of the floral season. Purple is associated with good fortune in Chinese community, but lavender is associated with purity in the West. Citizens will receive New Year's greetings in the shape of a bright landscape, according to the agency.
