CECC confirms 54 more COVID-19 cases, including 4 domestic cases and 50 imported cases

According to Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), there are 54 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of those 54 cases, 4 are domestic and 50 are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the domestic cases, they are 2 men and 2 women, aged between around 20 years old and around 50 years old.

Regarding the 50 new imported cases, they are 24 men and 25 women, aged between under 5 and above 60 years old. 16 of them are from the United States, 2 from Hong Kong, UK, Japan, Germany, and Canada each, and 1 from Cambodia, Australia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, France, and Sweden. The remaining 18 cases arrived are being investigated. They arrived between January 28, 2022, to February 13, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 5,990,985 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 5,970,608. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 19,621 cases. Of the 19,621 confirmed cases, 4,244 are imported; 15,323 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection.

The command center once again appeals to the public that one should keep hands clean, wear a mask, reduce unnecessary travel, activities, or gatherings, avoid entering and leaving crowded places, or areas with high risk of infection transmission, and take the initiative to follow various regulations and stop the potential spread of the highly contagious variant within the community
