Executive Yuan adopted the "111 Government SMS Platform" as a trustworthy route for government agencies and administrative departments to transmit text messages in order to stop fraud from posing as government entities in order to send fraudulent texts.

In order to monitor and regulate the text message sending end, the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) also worked with the main telecom providers. The 111 short code may only be used by government entities via this platform in order to avoid the public being tricked by texts purporting to be from these organizations.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Economics, Ministry of Labor, Academia Sinica, Department of Digital Affairs, Tainan City Government, and other units are presently taking part in the "111 Government SMS Platform" test, and over 20 more units have indicated their desire to participate.

MODA Minister Audrey Tang noted that 111 text messages have already been sent to individuals since the text message platform's development was finished at the end of September.

The initial phase of testing for 111 short code SMS is still ongoing, and units that are already using exclusive short codes—165, 1922, etc.—will keep using them. According to Digital Development Minister Audrey Tang, in the future, anyone would be able to verify that the SMS's content is from a governmental agency simply by the 111 SMS short code.
