2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival is going to host in Taichung. The main exhibition area in Houli Forest Park will be the exhibition for the new resident cross cultural marriage theme, combining with the food tasting, DIY experience and performance. Director of the Civil Affair Bureau, WU SHI WEI stated that the new resident exhibition will be hosting lantern design competition as well to present the new resident’s creativity and multi-cultural artistic style. It is welcome to every new resident artist to come join the competition.
Taichung Civil Affair Bureau held the new resident exhibition press conference in front of the Taichung City Hall building on 27th. Director Wu stated that the creative new resident lantern design competition is open to every individual, family and institution. The work will be judged by contemporary artists and lantern designers. The winner will be awarded prize and certificate and will be presented at the Lantern Festival in the new resident exhibition area. Sign up date is from Dec 1st to Jan 10th.
Besides, Taichung city hall is going to hold a Vietnam traditional hand-made lantern competition in Fengle Sculpture Park on the Migrant’s Day (Dec 1st). Sign up date started from now until Nov 30th for only 100 spots. The works will also be exhibited at the lantern festival. Each participant will get a small gift.
