The charm of Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area shines once again in this year's Light One Bike cycling event. The Ministry of Transportation and Communications Tourism Bureau's Dapeng Bay National Scenic Area Administration will host this exciting cycling event over six days: August 30, 31, September 1, 6, 7, and 8. This event combines the triennial Donggang King Boat Ceremony, offering participants a rich journey intertwined with culture and nature.
Xu Zhulong, Director of the Tourism Bureau, emphasized that this event has been held for many consecutive years. This year, in addition to the popular DIY codfish floss and go-kart experiences, the itinerary includes a visit to the Qijiatou Temple, providing participants with deeper insights into the Pingtung King Boat Ceremony. Participants will not only enjoy the beautiful scenery and wetland ecology along the way but also savor local delicacies like rice soup and engage in water activities, making the trip full of surprises and fun.
This year’s event specially invited well-known travel bloggers Meat Lu and Dada Ling couple, along with the new resident St. Jefeng family from Jamaica. Through guided tours led by experts, they explored the historical and cultural background of Donggang. They hope this international marketing approach will allow more new residents to discover the unique beauty of Dapeng Bay. During the event, Meat Lu mentioned that seeing many magnificent temples, the vast sea, and beautiful sunsets along the way felt very romantic, prompting him to keep taking photos. St. Jefeng expressed that through the professional guide’s explanations, he learned about the history of Qijiatou and the significance of the Donggang King Boat Ceremony. The DIY experience and go-kart activities during this trip not only enhanced parent-child interaction but also brought joy to the entire family.
During the six-day event, two tour routes will be offered: Route A, featuring DIY squid floss, perfect for family fun, and Route B, which includes an exciting go-kart experience. The registration fee is NTD 499, which includes guided tours, clothing, sleeves, towels, DIY or go-kart activities, water activities, and food vouchers, ensuring participants get great value and unforgettable experiences.
