To implement the measures for handling new residents' care and services, Yilan County Government has worked with other units, devoted to caring for and creating a friendly environment for new residents, and gained an outstanding result. Yilan County Government was also awarded the excellent prize for new residents’ care services in the evaluation of performance on the Board of Ministry of the Interior in 2018.
Yilan County Government has cooperated with other 9 departments such as the Civil Affairs Bureau, the Department of Labor Affairs, the Secretariat, the Department of Social Affairs, the Department of Education, the Department of Business and Tourism, the police stations, the Bureau of Cultural Affairs, and the Department of Health to promote the new residents' care services which are aimed to provide life adaptation skills training, medical reproduction health, protection of employment rights, increase of educational culture, assistance to children's upbringing, personal safety protection, improvement of the law system, and implementation of concepts promotion for new residents to live and work in peace in Yilan.
Yilan County Government also has various innovations such as conducting new citizen citizenship courses, recruiting polling stations’ staff, encouraging new residents to participate in public affairs and bravely practice their citizenship, conducting a second honeymoon camp for couples of new residents to strengthen their marriage management and communication skills, and handling a volunteer training of new residents for storytelling to promote multiple reading skills.
