According to a report by the "4wayvoice", the special exhibition "Remembering Childhood: Southern Children's Music Club" (憶兒時:南方童樂會) is now running at the Tzu Chi Nantou Liaison Office (慈濟南投聯絡處). The childhood and growing up period of new immigrants from various countries become the characteristic of Southeast Asian culture and the local public can better understand the culture of the new immigrant's home country through diverse interactive exhibitions. The event is co-hosted by the Tzu Chi Foundation (慈濟基金會) and the National Science and Technology Museum (國立科學工藝博物館). The exhibition will be held from now until December 31.

The special exhibition is divided into 5 projects including "Where am I?", "Imports of Growth", "Sweet and Good Taste", "[You] You Are So Good", and "Model Transformation Show". The contents are based on new immigrants’ perspectives during their childhood and growing up period, and shows the characteristics of Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Through signboards, model furnishings, electronic interactive games, related toys, games, desserts, nursery rhymes, stories and clothing show the different culture, etiquette at each stage.

Chen Hsun-Hsiang (陳訓祥), curator of the National Museum of Science and Technology, said that the special exhibition is mainly to convey the spirit of ethnic integration, mutual respect, and the spirit of learning together. Through the exhibition, the public can experience the childhood characteristics and features of different cultures and enhance respect for foreign cultures. The interactive display introduces children's games, growing up customs, traditional food and clothing of Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Cambodia. Through the exhibit contents and activities, the visitors can understand and explore the customs of various countries.

In addition, during the special exhibition, three parent-child interactive activities are planned as follows, October 17 (Sunday) 14:00 to 16:00 Vietnam cultural experience, Cambodian cultural experience; November 14 (Sunday) 14:00 to 16:00 Indonesian cultural experience, Thai cultural experience; December 12 (Sunday) 14:00 to 16:00 Malaysian cultural experience. Everybody of all ages and their families are welcome to visit.
