The Department of Social Affairs Bureau of the Taoyuan City Government has opened an interpretation service counter on the third floor of the city hall to provide interpreter services for new immigrants who come to make business contacts as part of an effort to improve services for new immigrants of Taoyuan City. The Department has trained interpreters who work at the service counters. Vietnamese interpretation is available every Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon, while Indonesian interpretation is available every Thursday and Friday afternoon.

The Department of Social Affairs Bureau of the Taoyuan City Government reported that throughout the years, it has educated 100 interpreters in Outer Mongolian, English, Cantonese, and languages from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Myanmar. Vietnamese and Indonesian interpreters, who are in great demand, are now being stationed at the interpretation counter on the third floor of the city hall. The language and timing of services will change in the future in response to demand.

The Department also noted that Taoyuan City now has around 65,000 new immigrants, ranking it as the city with Taiwan's fourth-highest concentration of new immigrant. The Taoyuan New Immigrants Culture Center now set up a combined service center for new immigrants. Here, employees from many bureaus are stationed to provide new immigrants services including employment, social aid, education and learning, naturalization, legal counseling, and interpretation.
