During a sneak preview of its Pavilion branch on Oct 28, all eyes were on the Star-Max Hall where movie-goers can experience watching films in "space" with a futuristic galaxy theme.

"The whole concept is that you're watching movies under the stars. You can see that there are planets at the sides of the hall. If you notice there are shooting stars (on the ceiling). It really is the very first of its kind in Malaysia," shared Jessica Chong, senior marketing manager of Dadi Cinema.

Each Star-Max hall sits approximately 260 people and is equip with advanced laser projection technology illuminating the walls with constellations. Customers can pick between rocker seats and slider seats when purchasing a ticket, with the latter providing the option to recline the seat for better comfort. "Every seat in Pavilion KL is equip with USB ports because we want to provide convenience," added Chong.

The Star says, there will also be a screening hall catered to children. Called the Lil Star Hall, it comes complete with smaller animal-themed seats, a playground at the front of the hall and seats for parents at the back.

Chong also explained that the lighting in these halls are not as dim as others, so parents can watch over their children throughout the movies.

Those with Lil Star tickets, can also gain access to the Lil Star Playland, a play space for children before the film starts. "We have the concept that (since) VIP halls have VIP lounges, we wanted to also have the same concept for the kids halls," said Chong.

Speaking of VIP halls, there is the Star Plus halls which feature premium twin leatherette recliner cabin seats, resembling "sort of like a business class flight". Star Plus ticket holders can also relax in the Star Lounge before entering the halls.

Those in Star Plus can enjoy free flow of selected concessions purchased and a call button beside every seat for service any time throughout the films. Each seat is also accompanied with a wireless charging port for devices.

Dadi at Pavillion and Da Men open its doors on Nov 1.
