Taipei - Taiwan reported no new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) to report yesterday. As of Sunday afternoon, the total number of Taiwan's confirmed COVID-19 cases stood at 440, 349 of whom were imported, 55 were local, and 36 originated from the Taiwan Navy’s "Goodwill Fleet." The death toll remained at six, while 361 patients were released from isolation after treatment at hospitals, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said Sunday (May 10).
Besides, the newest name-based rationing system for face masks provides smaller face masks (12.7 centimeters by 8 centimeters), starting May 18. Parents can order and pick up masks at convenience store kiosks or on the government's eMask website with their children's NHI cards.
Parents need to make sure the size of masks that fit their children. Masks and the stores where they pick up masks cannot be changed after payment, the CECC reminded.

Moreover, even if the pandemic has greatly eased in Taiwan, members of the public should still perform hand hygiene and cough etiquette and wear a mask outside when taking public transportation, including MRT, Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR), and Taiwan Railways. If an individual has symptoms, such as fever or cough when arriving, he or she should report it to the inspection personnel and follow disease control policies.
Inbound nationals should conduct 12-day home quarantine. If symptoms occur, individuals contact the health bureaus or local care centers to seek medical treatment. Individuals who have symptoms are not allowed to take public transportation and should inform the doctor of the TOCC (Travel history, occupation, contact history, and cluster).
