Taichung City Government Labor Affairs Bureau Director Chang Ta-chun (張大春) said that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, in addition to informing migrant workers through manpower agencies, the bureau has requested for the assistance of public transportation companies, medical institutions, religious organizations, parks, markets, and business districts to post announcements and actively record audio files in four languages for employers and related units to download and use. In addition, the Workforce Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor (勞動部勞動力發展署) has produced the "Multilingual Vaccine Appointment System Operating Instructions" (多國語言預約疫苗系統操作說明). Any migrant worker who has national health insurance can register and make an appointment on the "COVID-19 Vaccination Registration and Appointment Registration Platform" (COVID-19公費疫苗預約平台) if they meet the qualifications for vaccination. At the same time, employers are reminded that the COVID-19 vaccination is not mandatory, but employers or manpower agencies should encourage migrant workers to get vaccinated and assist them in making appointments. They should respect the migrant workers’ willingness to receive the vaccine and should not force the migrant workers.
