According to Bongbong Marcos to attend Asean-GCC Summit in Saudi Arabia | Global News (inquirer.net), on October 19, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is scheduled to go for Saudi Arabia in order to attend the Asean-GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) Summit of 2023, which is an Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

Up to October 20, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Marcos will be in Saudi Arabia.

The President's visit will be quick, according to DFA Assistant Secretary Daniel Espiritu, who stated as much at a Palace briefing. The President's travel would only last around a day.

The first Asean-GCC summit is scheduled for October 20, 2023, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh. The President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will be there, according to a DFA official.

Although there will just be a one-day event, a Filipino community gathering will take place beforehand, ideally in the morning on October 20. According to him, the President will thus arrive by plane on October 19 and depart the location immediately following the meeting on October 20, following supper.

Marcos is expected to take part in a business roundtable with Saudi Arabian businesses, according to Espiritu. However, Espiritu added that as of Monday, October 16, the meetings were still being finalized.

He said there was also a chance for a bilateral meeting between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
