Following the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, the 4th Hangzhou Asian Para Games will take place in 2022. The delegation of the "2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games" was personally honored by President Tsai Ing-wen, who praised the players' attitude of pushing their own limits. Meanwhile, President Tsai Ing-wen declared that she would assist athletes and coaches as they advance to Paris the next year and would keep pushing for the growth of sports for those with disabilities.

According to President Tsai Ing-wen, Taiwan participated the Asian Para Games with the largest delegation ever and took home four gold, four silver, and twelve bronze medals from the fourteen competition events it took part in. The president also mentioned in detail how athlete Xiao Xiang-wen (蕭翔文) previously left his passion for taekwondo after an injury, and how on that occasion he went on to win Taiwan's first-ever gold medal at the Asian Para Games.
