Kazuki from Nagoya, Japan, has a passion for Chinese, runs a YouTube channe l(一棵樹的一樹), and dreams of making it big in Taiwan. Additionally, he wants to share Taiwanese life with others and see how foreigners to Taiwan interact with its many cultures and the differences between Taiwan and Japan.

In this episode of the "New Immigrants in Taiwan" column, Kazuki discovered that his more than two years of residence in Taiwan resulted in the development of several Taiwanese habits that drew him closer to Taiwanese people. Kazuki will discuss these intriguing habits, and he is confident that many of his Taiwanese friends would concur.

Kazuki stated that he would be very prompt when meeting with friends and that he would wear flip-flops outdoors due to the hot temperature. However, the interior air conditioning is often very powerful when dining or sipping coffee outside, so Kazuki would also take a jacket. After residing in Taiwan for a while, the Japanese custom of making dumplings as a side dish frequently evolves into a staple meal.

When it rains and Kazuki has forgotten his umbrella, he claimed he would go to the convenience stores to get one. He is likewise accustomed to standing on the right side when using the escalator. He will abruptly take up the phone when speaking with pals, or he may converse on the phone while riding the MRT, but he must still speak quietly to avoid disturbing other commuters.

It is also quite convenient to rent or ride a motorcycle in Taipei, and Kazuki has started to become used to having his own shopping bags with him when he goes shopping. According to Kazuki, because Taiwan's climate is more humid than Japan's is, he uses the dehumidifier at home and keep one in the closet.

Through the video, Kazuki claimed that since Taiwanese fruits are delectable and affordable, he also consumes them frequently. When eating hot pot, Kazuki is accustomed to adding Shacha sauce. Finally, Kazuki said that he had become slightly “Taiwanized” as a result of spending the last several years in Taiwan by developing several other social habits, such as inquiring about other people's horoscope signs and really drinking it all when toasting.
