Miaoli New Immigrant Learning Center helps new immigrants assimilate into Taiwanese culture

The Miaoli County Government, with the help of local schools and other units, aims to create learning opportunities for new immigrants learning.

Miaoli County Government recently launched a "lifelong learning 111" program (終身學習111). The program aims to help students develop a skill. The course is once a week, and new immigrants can reach the classroom within 10 minutes. The course aims to encourage new immigrants or elders to participate in the program. 

The New Immigrant Learning Center is set up at Houlonghai elementary school (後龍海寶國小).  

The center provides courses according to the needs of new immigrant mothers. The course teaches Mandarin and other things as well, hoping to help new immigrants adapt to their life in Taiwan.

Miaoli County government is proving many education opportunities for new immigrants. The Miaoli County government has set up community care centers, a new immigrant volunteer team, etc. They hope to provide a learning environment for new immigrants.
