New immigrants have become an indispensable part of Taiwan society. As more and more new immigrants choose Taiwan, the education of their descendants becomes even more important. To train the teaching support staff of new residents’ language courses, to assist the school to promote the new residents’ language teaching courses and to improve the quality of the new residents’ language teaching. The 2021 "New Residents’ Language Teaching Support Staff Training" (新住民語文教學支援人員培訓) qualification class in Miaoli County started on September 25.

Under the guidance of the National and the K-12 Education Administration of the Ministry of Education (教育部國民及學前教育署), the "New Residents’ Language Teaching Support Personnel Training" qualification class implemented by the Education Department of Miaoli County (苗栗縣教育處) is open for registration until September 11. Those who want to register must be over 20 years old and must meet one of the conditions to sign up.
There are four conditions: new immigrants and their children who are interested in teaching Southeast Asian languages, foreign students who meet the requirements of the Employment Service Law (就業服務法規定), students of Southeast Asian languages (including graduates) who are interested in teaching Southeast Asian languages, and Teacher certificate (elementary school and above) and official certification of the new immigrant language from Taiwan or abroad or other kinds of certification that meets the required standards.
The Miaoli County 2021 Annual "New Resident Language Teaching Support Personnel Training" qualification class will be held in Miaoli Kung Kuan Junior High School (苗栗縣公館國中). The opening dates are September 25, October 2, October 16, October 23, and October 30. Seven Southeast Asian languages will be opened in sequence, including Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Burmese, Cambodian, Filipino, and Malaysian. The teaching content covers understanding of the status of education in Taiwan’s primary and secondary schools, the use of new immigrants’ language teaching materials, the production of teaching aids, and the application of teaching materials.
