According to the 4wayvoice, the Chiayi County Government has been actively improving the workplace environment in recent years, hoping to improve occupational safety and workplace hygiene in small and medium-sized institutions and reduce occupational accidents.

Migrant workers might have language barriers in Taiwan, this is therefore teaching should be done in multi-method approaches to make them understand occupational safety better.

To reinforce the concept of rule of law, the Labor and Youth Development Department organized “Rule of law education & Hand-made activities” for migrant workers in Jiatai Industrial Park. It is hoped that through the event, migrant workers will be able to absorb the knowledge of laws as well as de-stress in a relaxed way.”

The Labor and Youth Development Department states that with the help from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Ministry of Labor, experts and scholars were invited to guide the factories through environment improvement methods. The rights and interests of every worker in the industry chain are protected and a safe workplace is built.

In addition, Chen Yi Han (陳奕翰), the Director of the Labor and Youth Development Department reminds that when employing foreigners, one must check the original copy of the relevant documents and identification carefully. Moreover, must ask if they are new residents, students or migrant workers to avoid penalties.
