 The ten-year resident of Taiwan, Swedish YouTuber Lukas Engström, uses his channel “Lukas in Taiwan” to investigate the regional customs of Taiwan. The goal is to introduce Taiwan in the hopes that more foreigners would become aware of how lovely and welcoming Taiwan is. In this episode of the “New Immigrants in Taiwan” column, The host Lukas brought an interview with Laetitia Lim(林美卿), CEO of La French Tech Taiwan, to see the impression of the French on Taiwan.

In the video, it was revealed that Laetitia Lim(林美卿), who attended business school in France, spent six months in Taiwan worked as an intern at the Bank of France. She claimed that she had already decided she would return to Taiwan at that point. She chose Taiwan as the location for building family after being posted to Asia. Laetitia Lim was open in admitting during Lukas' interview that she didn’t expect much of Taiwan in 2008 since the local French don't know Taiwan very well and only have a passing familiarity with it as a small island of interest.

After settling in Taiwan, Lim discovered that the country combines modernization and history, and that its residents are highly open-minded, truthful. In Taiwan, many lovely things can be found, making it an excellent place to settle. According to Lim. she was once get lost in Taiwan, there were only paper maps and Chinese letters, which confused her greatly, but Taiwanese people would come up and ask if she needed help.

Lim's response to Lukas' question about how best to sum up Taiwan for foreigners who have never visited, "It is a place in Asia where you can feel a little bit of European atmosphere," is particularly noteworthy. There is a variety of scenery, including beaches and mountains, and it doesn't take very long to travel to different locations. It is only natural to bring up food. She alluded to the French who enjoy eating a lot, and she can tell Taiwanese people also do.

Finally, when Lukas asked if there was anything Lim wished to know before coming to Taiwan, Lim also specifically mentioned that if she had known that Taiwan is so open and lovable earlier, she would have taken the initiative to be an exchange student when she was studying.
