In order to expand the exchanges Chinese language education between Taiwan and Malaysia, the Ministry of Education of Taiwan invited 13 Malaysian Education Department officials to Taiwan for the first time and conducted a one-week Chinese-intensive course with cultural and educational exchange and interactions. The course is planned by the Chinese Language Education Center of the National Taipei University of Education. At the same time, Malaysian officials also visited the Taiwan Vocational Education School to share about educational experience and recommendations.
As more and more people learn Chinese, Chinese has become one of important languages in the 21st century. According to the “Ethnologue” statistics, there are more than 1.3 billion Chinese speakers worldwide, accounting for one-sixth of the world's population. Many countries have also invested resources for learning Chinese.
Taiwan in terms of promoting Chinese language education, in addition to retaining traditional Chinese characters, Taiwan also has quality Chinese textbooks. To learn Chinese language in Taiwan, you can not only experience Chinese traditional culture, but also feel free and democratic living environment, and also the friendliness and enthusiastic of Taiwanese people, which are not experienced in other countries or regions.
This course was planned by the Chinese Language Education Center of the National Taipei University of Education, it contained both theoretical and practical. It is rich in content and diverse and included Chinese-language listening, speaking, reading and writing. Moreover, it contained Chinese language proficiency test, free Chinese language learning online course promotion and cultural visiting courses including Yangmingshan National Park and the National Palace Museum etc.
In addition, to meet with the needs of Malaysian officials, special plans are also being made to visit special education and vocational education schools (such as Wenshan School of Special Education and Jingwen University of Science and Technology etc.) to enable Malaysian officials to understand the different educational environments in Taiwan, and share about educational experience and recommendations.
