The Revenue Service Office, Kaohsiung City reminds foreigners that if they want to leave the car or motorcycle (above 151cc) for other people to use or scrap it before leaving the country, please remember to follow the Motor Vehicles Office's transfer or scrapping procedures in order to avoid being charged for "Vehicle License Tax" or being fined after leaving the country.

The Revenue Service Office advises foreign students to visit the Motor Vehicles Office to complete the transfer or scrap processes before they graduate and leave the country if they wish to leave their automobiles or motorbikes for others to use or scrap them. Otherwise, the first registered owner will still be charged the "Vehicle License Tax". In addition to paying the required Vehicle License Tax, violators will additionally be penalized less than double the tax amount if violators are discovered driving a car that has had its license cancelled and has been out of the country for more than a year.

The Revenue Service Office reminds foreign students who have registered their tax bill address in the school to remember to apply to the Motor Vehicles Office and Revenue Service Office to change the tax bill address or apply for an electronic tax bill if they plan to work in Taiwan after graduation to avoid forgetting to pay the Vehicle License Tax and being fined for operating a vehicle on the road.
