To welcome the arrival of Chinese New Year early, the Kinmen County Service Station and Special Team of the Southern District Affairs Team of the National Immigration Agency held the experience event, " The Blessing From Wind Lion God of Kinmen, DIY for Diffusion Stone of New Resident" at the Shuitou Port District Tourist Service Center. The event allows more new residents families to know about diffusion stones, spice up the festive atmosphere of Kinmen.

Chiu Chih-Fen, the head of “Xiao Fen Handcraft Studio” was exclusively invited to the event to lead the new residents to know diffusion stones and the handcraft session. Teacher Chiu, who a well-known creative worker in Shamei area of Kinmen comes from Fujian and settled down in Kinmen with her husband after got married. She regards unique cultural art and architecture in Kinmen to be treasure.

Teacher Chiu explained the composition of the raw material of the diffusion stone with the wind lion model, which is generally gypsum powder or ore. Since there are many small pores on the surface, and it will absorb and discharge water depends on the humidity of the environment. Dripping some essential oil or perfume on the diffusion stone, the aroma of your scent will be released immediately, and it can be used repeatedly.

Liao Hui-Lan, director of the Kinmen County Service Station, said that December 18 is International Immigrants Day. In order to promote the integration of new residents into Taiwanese culture, the Kinmen County Service Station held a diffusion stone painting event which is suitable for the Lunar New Year on the eve of the International Immigrants Day, encouraging new residents to use colors to boost life and create a sense of accomplishment and happiness for the family.
