In this episode of the “New Immigrants in Taiwan” column, Boris from Malaysia and Rinko from Japan are the two YouTubers from the "laowaizaiganma" (老外在幹嘛) YouTube channel guide the audience to Yunlin to experience a custom that even many Taiwanese are unfamiliar with from the viewpoint of new immigrants.

Everyone was first taken to the location where the historic malt extract with Boris and Rinko. They also had the chance to try the freshly created, ancient malt extract, with the proprietress's assistance. According to the proprietress, wheatgrass is the primary component of malt extract, therefore in the beginning, wheatgrass has to be crushed in a machine before being added to a sizable pot of round glutinous rice and fermented while being stirred. To finish the homemade malt extract, it also has to be cooked and filtered.

The proprietress invited the two of them to have malt sugar milk after showing them how to make malt extract. The richness and taste of maltose milk completely taken aback the two.

The two then headed to the hydroponic farm. To their amazement, the hydroponic technique of growing vegetables is easy, secure, and has fewer bugs, allowing the use of less pesticides. These hygienic and sanitary hydroponically grown veggies. It tastes sweet and fresh when eaten straight from the farm.

The two arrived in aiyu garden as the third stop. Taiwan has a special plant called aiyu. Aiyu became popular in Japan during the time of the Japanese occupation, earning the respect of the Japanese people as Taiwan's most delectable dessert. The two were eventually given the chance to visit aiyu garden and witness aiyu's actual appearance. The two had the chance to make their own aiyu jelly in addition to learning about the many types of aiyu.

The two visited an old-fashioned fruit ice store at their final stop and had classic popsicles. The proprietor of the ice store taught them how to create fruit popsicles, and they made various varieties to suit their tastes by pouring fresh fruit smoothies into popsicle molds. The popsicles, according to Boris and Rinko, are healthier and more delectable since they are produced with fresh fruit juice.

After returning, Boris claimed that this journey to Yunlin had opened his eyes. Rinko added that Taipei is too small a city to experience everything. Only when you visit Yunlin do you realize it that the greatest way to experience the authentic Taiwanese flavor is through this trip to Yunlin. He strongly urges everyone to visit Yunlin to take part in Taiwan's traditional tourism.
