It is expected that students who do not possess the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship would be able to enter Taiwan in March

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has stated that roughly 5,000 overseas language students who do not possess the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (獎學金華語生) would be able to enter Taiwan in March. However, rolling-wave planning will be adopted according to the decision made by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

Due to the COVID-19 cluster uncovered at the Taoyuan International Airport, and the influx of passengers around the busy Lunar New Year travel period, MOE has announced the scheduled dates for students who do not possess the Huayu Enrichment Scholarship will be adjusted according to CECC’s regulations.

Students must have a negative COVID-19 test result within three days of boarding their aircraft, as well as a PCR test upon arrival and before the completion of their mandated 14-day quarantine.

Before returning to school, students will be forced to follow self-health management instructions for another seven days and undergo a fast COVID-19 self-test, according to the ministry.
