According to Earthquakes rattle Ilocos Norte and Leyte | Inquirer News, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) announced that two earthquakes that occurred on Thursday in Ilocos Norte and Leyte both measured 3.2 on the Richter scale.

In Nueva Era, Ilocos Norte, the first tectonic temblor struck at 10:09 am on September 21. It had a two-kilometer focal depth.

The earthquake was felt at Intensity IV in Nueva Era and Intensity III in Pinili town, according to Phivolcs' report.

At Nueva Era, Phivolcs also made an Instrumental Intensity IV recording. In contrast, the second tectonic earthquake struck the province of Leyte more than two hours later at 12:22 p.m. It happened three kilometers under the surface.

An Instrumental Intensity IV was recorded nearby, according to Phivolcs.

In contrast to instrumental intensities, which are based on ground motion monitored by an accelerometer, state seismologists noted that reported earthquake intensities were based on the real shaking that residents of the afflicted region felt.

According to Earthquakes rattle Ilocos Norte and Leyte | Inquirer News, as a result of the two earthquakes, Phivolcs stated that it does not anticipate any damage or aftershocks.
